Dax Shepard has been a person who has marked himself for never shying away from accepting or admitting his faults and other things. Well, he recently admitted that he relapsed with opiates and he was taking a lot of Vicodin after he met with an accident.
He made this announcement on his podcast and claimed that he was taking pills almost every day and he was dependent on them. Dax reiterated, “I’m allowed to be on them at some dosage because I have a prescription. And then I’m also augmenting that. And then all the prescriptions run out and I’m now just taking 30 mil Oxys that I’ve bought whenever I decide I can do [it].”
Apparently, Shepard had to go through multiple surgeries as his bones were broken in a motorcycle accident. He mentioned that he’s been lying to other people and he’s to quit the habit, he’s also doing his part in order to leave the habit as soon as possible. “And I’m lying to other people and I know I have to quit. But my tolerance is going up so quickly that I’m now in a situation where I’m taking, you know, eight 30s a day, and I know that’s an amount that’s going to result in a pretty bad withdrawal. And I start getting really scared, and I’m starting to feel really lonely. And I just have this enormous secret,” Shepard said as a matter of confession.
Shepard claimed that he’s been sober for 7 days after so long and he’s quite happy and proud about the same. Also, he spoke about seeking help from his family and friends and said that he’s already spoken about the same with his family and a small group of friends (of which, he has received a positive response and is looking forward to improvements).
