A California man is being appreciated by almost everyone after he had managed to control the anger by holding him throughout the remaining flight after he threatened that he had a bomb. Apparently, the unruly passenger wanted to land in Vancouver, B.C. by threatening captains of carrying a bomb along with him.
According to sources, Gyeong Jei Lee was traveling on a Korean Air flight from Seoul to Seattle when he suddenly went near the cockpit and started screaming at his highest pitch (both in English and Korean) that he wanted to travel to Vancouver as he had never traveled there before. Perhaps, he was in a wrong flight because it was going to Seattle, he threatened the flight attendants about carrying a bomb.
Gene Parente was asleep during the time until his sleep was disturbed with the noise in the cockpit. Parente claimed that he was approached by flight attendants because most of them were smaller to the height of Lee and then all of them managed to subdue Lee until the flight landed safely.
According to a news report, Korean Air claimed that their staff was sufficiently trained to handle these kinds of emergency situations and said, “All our crew members take a thorough safety and security training every year, including how to subdue unruly passengers with a taser, and we trust our crews are capable enough to conduct safety actions. However, unruly passengers are a broader issue that should also be dealt with by an airport and law enforcement authorities. We will continue to discuss with relevant stakeholders to eliminate such cases.”
