A Reddit user has shared a long post about how her sibling has asked and requested her to postpone the wedding because the sibling’s wedding has been delayed due to the outbreak of a novel pandemic.
The Reddit user asked the netizens as to whether they did right after not postponing the wedding for their own good and not listening to the sibling about it. The user wrote, “She got engaged last year and her wedding was supposed to be in August, now rescheduled for August next year. However, two weeks ago my boyfriend proposed and is now engaged. We want to have our wedding next winter, around November/December-ish. It’ll probably be something very small.”
The user also reiterated that the sibling got angry because there was a little difference between their weddings and she wanted to be married first. “She got upset and told me I knew how much she wanted her wedding to be a one of a kind ‘event’ and she knows if we have ours so close after a lot of our relatives will be talking about us during her wedding,” the user added.
Well, the user said that she doesn’t want to delay their wedding because they would shift to a new country post-marriage and that they will not get time to celebrate their wedding day with family and friends when they move to another country. The user also mentioned how the whole postponing thing has shifted to a whole new episode and drama at her home.
The user said, “I just feel like she’s being unreasonable. We’re not having a big wedding like she is and it’s months apart. I do feel bad she’s had to reschedule but I don’t see how I should have to postpone just because she did?”
Many people supported the user and said that it is reasonable to ask for 1 or 2 days but a year is too much.
