The cases of coronavirus are increasing day-by-day in every corner of the world and there are hardly very few corners where the pandemic hasn’t left its traces or hasn’t affected even a single person. In the midst of all these, Disney World reopened its parks, and netizens including social media users have not liked it lately.
To honor the day of Disney World’s reopening after it was temporarily closed following the rising number of coronavirus cases, the company launched a video in which the employees are seen welcoming guests back (everyone has covered their faces with masks). The video was captioned with a message that read, “Cast members are ready to welcome guests back to Walt Disney World Resort.”
However, the video and reopening news didn’t turn up well with the users as one of the users, re-edited the video, and made it look like that the employees were urging people to stay at home and not visit the park. While, another user added a haunted background track to the video and many tried to photoshop the mask from employees’ faces in the video, as per reports.
Also, one user wrote, “Reopening in the midst of all the spikes is sketchy. Having people who have COVID but are asymptomatic would bring The Thing levels of distrust.” Many users disagreed and said that this wasn’t the right time for Disney to reopen as people are already scared and the number of cases has been increasing.
Earlier, the company had said that it would follow the complete social distancing norms where employees including customers would be asked to cover their faces with masks, sanitize properly in short-intervals, and should debar themselves from entering the proximity if they find any symptom related to COVID-19. Florida has experienced the largest daily surge in the number of coronavirus’ cases on Sunday.
